Learn more about Theology and Divinity Associate programs

Theology and Divinity draw you into some of the oldest questions humans have asked, covering scripture, ethics, religious history, and the philosophy of belief. An Associate Degree gives you a solid grounding in these areas across two years of focused study.

The learning environment fosters careful reading, respectful debate, and the kind of analytical thinking that sharpens how you interpret complex texts. Through coursework in biblical studies, world religions, and moral philosophy, you'll practice close textual analysis and learn to construct well-reasoned arguments about faith, meaning, and community life. Some programs also include modules in pastoral care or church history, giving you context that goes well beyond surface-level religious literacy.

At this level, you're not just surveying belief systems. You're developing real competencies in ethical reasoning, research, and written communication that carry across many sectors. Graduates go on to roles in community outreach, chaplaincy support, nonprofit work, or counseling services, and many use the Associate Degree as a stepping stone toward a Bachelor's program in theology, ministry, or a related area such as social work or philosophy.
