26 Sustainability Associate Programs

The ADT in Environmental Science introduces the concepts and principles upon which environmental knowledge is based, including the biological, chemical, and physical concepts underlying scientific theory and application to environmental issues. Students will develop skills for critical/analytical thinking, perceptive reading/observation, and interpretation to apply to environmental concerns affecting our everyday lives. The AS-T in Environmental Science provides students with a core curriculum to develop key skills for applying biological, physical, and chemical principles to the study of the environment and developing solutions to environmental problems.

Your interest in the outdoors and intense physical activity could lead to a rewarding career protecting life, property, and natural resources from wildfires. Gain the skills you need to use planned, controlled fire as a tool in wildlife management, forestry, or endangered species management.

The Environmental Conservation program is designed to meet the growing need for environmental and natural resource technicians within the natural resources and parkland areas. The effects from landscape uses such as forestry, agriculture, and urban development are the main focus of this degree. Graduates are employed by federal, state, county, and city governments, tribal entities or businesses managing natural resources. Employment by non-profit organizations is also on the rise.

The Environmental Science degree provides students with a strong and broad scientific foundation to prepare students for transfer into Bachelor's degree programs in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies.

You will learn key sustainability and land stewardship skills while studying the interactions between food, human health, and ecosystem services. You will contribute to the production, distribution, and marketing of locally grown produce through hands-on experiences with local farmers and growers.

The AAS degree total credit requirement depends upon which state apprenticeship the student is pursuing and the governing Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee's requirements; however, a minimum of 90 credits is required for all degrees.
