San Jose City College offers an Associate in Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration. The Associate in Arts, Business Administration Major meets the lower division course requirements necessary for San Jose State Universitys BS-Business Administration with concentration in Accounting, Accounting and Management Information Systems (a formal dual concentration), Finance, Human Resources Management, International Business, Manufacturing Management, Marketing. A grade of "C" or better is required for all coursework in the major.

The Elite Soccer University Program is designed for students from around the world who wish to pursue their studies at an American university, while simultaneously participating in high-performance soccer training that is focused on the overall academic and professional athletic improvement of the student.

The Business Department offers Associate in Science degrees and certificate programs in three major areas: Entrepreneurship, Management, and Marketing. The degree programs require a total of 60 units; of which, 24 units are selected from General Education areas and the remaining 36 units are selected from a business major concentration. Several levels of certificates are available in each of the three areas of concentration. The certificate programs can be completed without the requirements of General Education. A C grade or better is required in all degree and certificate major and major elective courses.The business programs are designed for students who are planning to begin a business career, preparing to assume positions of responsibility, or planning to operate their own businesses.

The Business Management (BUS) program is designed to develop the professional and business skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive, demanding, and changing business environment. The Business Management program includes instruction in business and management, leadership, professional selling, business law, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, accounting, and computer systems and applications. 

The Business and Workforce Development Division continues to focus on vocation training in Business. The programs are designed for students who are planning to begin a business career and may want to continue to complete a Bachelor’s degree.

The Associate in Business Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Related Program (BUS DTA/MRP) degree is designed for students who are majoring in Business and transferring within Washington State. Completion of this degree fulfills lower division general education requirements for completion of a bachelor’s degree and prerequisites for the Business major.

The Business Assistant Associate's Degree offers an advanced layer of core training for business and office assistants for a variety of duties. The business assistant curriculum enriches the chosen career of all who work in a professional office setting.

The Business Administration program prepares students to apply business principles and techniques in various career settings (domestic, international, electronic, etc.) to gain perspective on business situations affecting personal and working lives. Students will learn about buying, selling, and production of goods and services; understanding business organization; general management; employee motivation strategies; and basic accounting principles, as well as economic and marketing principles. Completion of the Business Administration: Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) will prepare you to meet minimum lower-division admission requirements (60 transferable units) for transfer to a California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC).

The Administrative Assistant Associate Degree prepares the person to perform high-level administrative support tasks such as compiling correspondence, preparing statistical reports, scheduling appointments, assisting clients in person and over the phone, arranging conference calls, taking and distributing minutes of meetings, handling information requests, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files. These positions require the employee to interact effectively with coworkers and multitask. This person may train and supervise lower-level clerical personnel.

This program is designed to give students an advanced understanding of business foundations including accounting and economics. Courses required for the major transfer core requirements must be evaluated by a letter grade, not by the pass (P) grade option.

You’ll complete the first two years of classes required to transfer as a junior into a business program at a four-year college or university. You’ll fulfill general education requirements—such as science and English—while also taking freshman- and sophomore-level business courses in topics such as economics, accounting and business law.
