Gain a broad knowledge of fundamental academic areas with Concordia University, St. Paul's fully online Associate of Arts in General Studies, which you can complete in two years with transfer credits. Based on the liberal arts education model, you will engage with a variety of disciplines as you develop critical thinking, written and oral communication, quantitative reasoning, and research skills. Additionally, the program will give you the foundation to pursue career advancement opportunities or continue your education in a bachelor's degree program after graduation.

The Associate in Arts (AA) in Liberal Studies degree is offered for the student intending to transfer to San Jose State University and obtain a Bachelors Degree leading toward the career of teaching. The program provides an excellent foundation in general education including the arts, sciences, humanities, and critical thinking. Students completing the degree will have completed the lower general education and will be able to have that series of courses certified at the time of transfer to San Jose State University. The major courses also further enhance the liberal studies emphasis for depth and breadth of study. Students interested in transferring to other California State Universities offering teacher preparation programs should also review the major sheet for an Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for Transfer (AA-T).

The Associate of Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T) degree builds on the technical courses required for job preparation by including a college-level general education component. The distinguishing characteristic of the AAS-T degree is a minimum of 20 credits of general education drawn from the same list as those taken by students completing the Associate of Arts, Direct Transfer Agreement, AA-DTA, the Science, Associate in Science, Transfer Track #1 (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geology), AS-T, and the Science, Associate in Science, Transfer Track #2 (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics), AS-T degrees.

International Studies is a broad, interdisciplinary social sciences degree that prepares students to engage with the global community.

Upon successful completion of the study program students receive an international private Associate in Liberal Studies (ALS) degree awarded by the school's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, based on the recommendation of the faculty of the local campuses where credits were earned.

Students will evaluate and interpret the ways in which people through the ages in different cultures have responded to themselves and the world around them in artistic and cultural creation. Students will also learn to value aesthetic understanding and incorporate these concepts when constructing value judgments.

Natural Sciences is a group of courses emphasizing the examination of the physical universe, its life forms, and its natural phenomena.

Social and Behavioral Sciences courses emphasize the perspective, concepts, theories and methodologies of the disciplines typically found in the vast variety of disciplines. Students will study about themselves and others as members of a larger society. Topics and discussion to stimulate critical thinking about ways people have acted in response to their societies will allow students to evaluate how societies and social subgroups operate.

Scientific Inquiry and Quantitative Reasoning courses emphasize the natural sciences which examine the physical universe, its life forms and its natural phenomena. Courses in Math emphasize the development of mathematical and quantitative reasoning skills beyond the level of intermediate algebra.
