San Jose City College offers an Associate in Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration. The Associate in Arts, Business Administration Major meets the lower division course requirements necessary for San Jose State Universitys BS-Business Administration with concentration in Accounting, Accounting and Management Information Systems (a formal dual concentration), Finance, Human Resources Management, International Business, Manufacturing Management, Marketing. A grade of "C" or better is required for all coursework in the major.

The Business and Workforce Development Division continues to focus on vocation training in Business. The programs are designed for students who are planning to begin a business career and may want to continue to complete a Bachelor’s degree.

The Business Department offers Associate in Science degrees and certificate programs in three major areas: Entrepreneurship, Management, and Marketing. The degree programs require a total of 60 units; of which, 24 units are selected from General Education areas and the remaining 36 units are selected from a business major concentration. Several levels of certificates are available in each of the three areas of concentration. The certificate programs can be completed without the requirements of General Education. A C grade or better is required in all degree and certificate major and major elective courses.

The Associate in Business Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Related Program (BUS DTA/MRP) degree is designed for students who are majoring in Business and transferring within Washington State. Completion of this degree fulfills lower division general education requirements for completion of a bachelor’s degree and prerequisites for the Business major.

This program prepares students for a variety of positions including Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Visualization Analyst, Insights Analyst, and Program Analyst.

The Associate in Business degree is designed as a Direct Transfer Agreement/Major Related Program (DTA/MRP) for transfer with junior standing to baccalaureate institutions. It is generally pursued by students who plan to transfer to a four-year university as a business major after completing their first two years at Peninsula College.

The Business Administration program prepares students to apply business principles and techniques in various career settings (domestic, international, electronic, etc.) to gain perspective on business situations affecting personal and working lives. Students will learn about buying, selling, and production of goods and services; understanding business organization; general management; employee motivation strategies; and basic accounting principles, as well as economic and marketing principles. Completion of the Business Administration: Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) will prepare you to meet minimum lower-division admission requirements (60 transferable units) for transfer to a California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC).

The Facilities Maintenance Technology Program will provide students with the skills to begin or advance in a career in facilities maintenance. It was designed by the advisory committee to meet industry requirements. Students will learn the skills and concepts necessary to install, operate, maintain and repair control, piping, and mechanical systems in large commercial, medical, institutional, and industrial buildings. Students will also learn trouble shooting skills, problem solving methods and electrical concepts. Continuous improvement techniques and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills will be stressed across the curriculum. Classes are designed in lecture and lecture/lab format to give students a solid foundation in general maintenance skills including HVAC/R. A grade of "C" or better is required for all major and certificate courses.
