What is the Erasmus Mundus scholarship?
Erasmus Mundus is Europe's biggest master's scholarship program. It helps the continent'sΒ eight best universitiesΒ attract top students from developing countries and increase the awareness of their master's programs.
An Erasmus Mundus scholarship supports master's students looking at European issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, particularly the interplay of cultural, political, societal, and contemporary historical issues in a global context.
Each year, up to 100 students are awarded the Erasmus Mundus scholarship. Lucky scholarship recipients can live in at least two European countries and study at three universities worldwide.
When does the application process open for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship?
The Application window for the Erasmus Mundus master's degree scholarships opens in October and closes in January each year. Most master's programs start in September of the same year.
Once you have the required documents for your Erasmus Mundus scholarship application, you must upload your information on theΒ online application system. You will need to create a new account on the Euroculture website before commencing your application.

Apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship in 6 easy steps
Step 1
Complete the information about your chosen partner universities.
- Choose 3 master's programs from theΒ Erasmus Mundus catalog.
- Place your chosen programs and universities in order of preference.
You will need to select your application type as "Erasmus Mundus Applicant" to ensure you are considered for the scholarship. If you want to self-finance your studies in case you are not selected for a scholarship, you must specify at this stage.
Step 2
You must read and acknowledge Euroculture's privacy statement and explain how you learned about the scholarship program.
Step 3
Compete your details, encompassing:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Marital Status
- Address
- Special needs
- Other notes
Step 4
Fill in your educational history. Explain the nature of your bachelor's degree, your previous institution, and details of relevant thesis or academic papers you have written.
Step 5
You must confirm your proficiency in English by sharing your scores from an English proficiency test you have taken.
Step 6
Upload all your required documents to the application portal.
You can save your application and continue later; however, uploading your documents is the last step in your application and must be done within the same session.
