Our Photography MA program trains open-minded and highly autonomous artists who are able to respond sensitively and progressively to the challenges of the world, supported by state-of-the-art technology and renowned teachers.

The Studio Art/ Art History major provides students with the opportunity to develop their artistic and creative abilities while gaining a global perspective on the arts.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, graduates with an emphasis on developing business and communication skills can find jobs in design companies, cultural institutions, the art market, exhibition spaces, or even the media. Students will be able to create and manage high-quality, fundable projects and businesses in the creative industries. Through case studies and internships, they will learn how to develop design and art projects; how to communicate effectively, and achieve international success.

The MA in Aesthetics (Specialisation in Classics) enables you to engage in scholarship and research at Masters level within the sphere of aesthetics, philosophies and theories of art. The basic module provides both a chronological overview of the most important stages of philosophical thinking about art and an in-depth analysis of the main issues in contemporary philosophical discourse on art. The Classical Studies specialisation provides theoretical knowledge of the arts of antiquity and the early Middle Ages, as well as practical knowledge of how to deal with ancient art in contemporary culture.

Our Designer- Maker MA programme enables students to become open-minded professionals who are receptive to global trends and local challenges and can provide sustainable responses through material-oriented solutions. Students can learn to use their art to make an internationally relevant positive impact, whether by creating craft-produced limited-series items or autonomous works of art intended for exhibitions and the art market. Research assignments, design studies, and studio exercises provide opportunities to participate in national and international professional events, exhibitions, and competitions and facilitate career advancement after graduation.

Our BA in Ceramics Design program offers an opportunity to practice and improve in a wide range of activities. Students are introduced to the possibility of experimenting and combining design, material research, 3D design, and 3D printing, a wide range of materials from paper to concrete. We believe in studio-focused education and training. The campus is located on the premises of the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, where the beautiful historical buildings are filled with the atmosphere of pure culture. We are the only training center in Hungary where students can experience such a wide scale of design and making which will enable our students to solve assignments related to either design, craftsmanship, autonomous works of art, or contemporary architecture alike.

Because BA in Visual Representation is unique, adventurous, and varied! Like all art forms, the visual arts (in this case painting and the natural arts) offer one of the most versatile opportunities for those who choose this branch of self-expression.

The practicing and development of drawing skills as the base of the visual and imagery creation and through this the stimulation of a personal artistic way of observing, thinking and representing the world. The course in OTM in Painting makes known the basic rudiments and techniques of painting in the first years and then gradually grows towards becoming an artist.

The University of Pécs, Faculty of Music and Visual Art’s MA in Ceramic Designdepartment has a close partnership and is located at the same site as the world-famous Zsolnay Porcelain Factory in Pécs. Various types of forming methods from handcrafting to design and spacious studio places together with academic level personal tutoring provide the students the opportunity of finding their own artistic way.

BSc in Sustainable Wood Engineering Technology (Official name of the study programme: BSc in Timber Industry Engineering) Innovate, Design, and Lead in Sustainable Timber Engineering.

Graduates are familiar with the means of expression and the opportunities of sculpture, as well as its materials and techniques. They are visual artists who possess the technical, professional, aesthetic and social science knowledge based on modern and classical foundations in BSc + MSc In Sculpture. They are capable of analysing the general and individual social needs in their field.

The MA Animation programme is built around three core pillars: developing independent perspectives, discovering a distinctive artistic voice and creative method, and cultivating a responsible designer mindset in animation.

Art history constitutes the most important component of theoretical training for art students, and serves as a fundamental basis for orientation and studying art. Art history is a continuous constituent of the curriculum for the full duration – ten semesters – of study. The program takes a comprehensive approach; it aims to provide students with a systematic overview of the most important processes, artists and styles of the different periods, from the beginnings of art till today.

Design in a broader sense – meaning all creative solutions as a whole- is indispensable in today’s global economics. The development & management of product structure and national and international relations of for-profit and non-profit actors of the art sector require professionals who are familiar with contemporary design, art scenes, and trends.
