The faculty of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is committed to educating students through distinction in teaching and research, and encouragement of innovative projects.

The Department of Architecture aims to educate architects and designers who can perceive design from a multidisciplinary perspective, who can follow and contribute to contemporary developments both at a national and international level, who can develop creative solutions, and who have a solid knowledge of design/construction law and project management as well as sustainability.

The Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture prepares future professionals whose designs will enhance the quality of urban life by means of natural and built elements.

Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is a profession based on meeting the expectations of the user; creating an aesthetic identity; providing solutions for the functional requirements using scientific and technical data in order to design the most comfortable environment.

The Department of Architecture's curriculum provides a strong foundation in architectural theory and prepares students for the innovative field of contemporary architectural practice.

Civil Engineering (CE) aims to understand civilization developments with the invention of innovative engineering design methodologies, algorithms, management, and procedures. Civil engineering education provides firm and sustainable foundations with up-to-date challenges to solve the problems related to social and civil services in the construction, transportation, environment, and energy sectors.

The graduate program in architecture intends to develop and deepen the knowledge of the students in architecture to higher levels of professional competence based on bachelor-level qualifications; to give students an understanding of scholarly research; to develop the ability to conduct and communicate studies individually and ability to enhance lifelong intellectual growth.

The program aims to cultivate scholars who formulate and conduct original scientific research in the field of Architecture and sub-research areas such as History of Architecture, Theory and Criticism, Cultural Studies, Environmental Control and Building Technology, Building Information, Urban Design. The target of the program is to provide students with basic theoretical approaches and accumulation of knowledge in the field of architecture and the listed sub-research areas at international, national and local scales.

Our program emphasizes the responsibility of architects for their impact on the environment. Our graduates will contribute to a new understanding of design based on an ethically responsible approach towards the environment and thus, will become involved actively in the creation of a better world. We envision a future where our graduates lead the way to developing more environmentally resilient ways of designing not only in Turkey but also all around the world.

The re-establishment of the Faculty was decided due to the split of the former Faculty of Engineering and Architecture into two units, as the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture, after the meeting of the Council of Ministers on 15.03.2013.

Architecture is one of the oldest professions when thought in relation to the phenomenon of dwelling. The program is composed of courses in design, history-theory-criticism, building physics and technologies, media, environment-city-society tracks which also prove its interdisciplinary quality. Science and technology, art and philosophy are the main components of the architecture discipline.

The basic goal of TED University Department of Architecture is to provide an architectural education that aims to train students to become architects who are able to meet the contemporary world’s increasing demand for flexible thinking and production; and who can follow technological, social, and practical developments day today. The Department of Architecture incorporates the student-oriented education policy of TED University and the practice of learning by doing, which is an essential requirement of architectural education and aims to define an education environment that facilitates interdisciplinary information exchange.

Students are admitted to this four-year-undergraduate program with their MF-4 points in YGS. The department of Architecture requires a strong content knowledge of mathematics, geometry and real interest in visual arts and philosophy.

The professions positioned under the umbrella of design, ranging from large to small and general to specific respectively, are urban planning, architecture, interior architecture, industrial design professions. They are all related to the design of spaces for human activities on different scales and are all closely related to each other.

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design was established in 2012 within the Faculty of Fine Arts of our university.
