The Joint Masters in Integrative Urban Studies is the first program of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, offering a multidisciplinary approach to understanding and improving cities. From urban design to policy-making, this program provides a comprehensive view of the unique challenges and opportunities in post-socialist cities, set against the backdrop of global trends.

The two-year master's degree in Architecture and Construction is a continuation of the four-year bachelor's degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering in the same field of study. The emphasis in the master's study is on architectural design and building disciplines, which are an integral part of every construction work.

Preparation of a graduated architect to become a creative expert in the whole complex of his profession, who is able to cope with design and management tasks in the process of capital construction. He shall also be qualified for activities in state administration. It is strictly required that the acquired education and knowledge is made use of according to the principles of sustainable development and optimum formation of the environment.

The newest study program at the Faculty of Architecture shatters the naïve idea that landscape architecture is something that is added to architecture after all the other professions have completed their jobs. Up to now, the education available education in this field in the Czech Republic mainly focused on the cultivation of knowledge in gardening and the natural sciences. But at our faculty, teaching links the knowledge and skills that are characteristic of the landscape architect with many aspects of the education of the architect and urban planner.

Candidates applying to study in the Civil Engineering bachelor’s study program must demonstrate knowledge and understanding within the scope specified by the appropriate directive of the Dean of FCE BUT, which requires them to have successfully completed their secondary education with a “Maturita“ final secondary school exam.

PhD in Civil Engineering Doctoral study is based on research in civil engineering. Students are working in one of the areas: concrete and concrete structures, steel structures, reliability and durability of structures, transport structures building environment, and urban planning.
