13 Architecture Degree Programs in Cyprus

The aim of the doctoral programs of the CEE Department is to promote scholarly research leading to discovery, learning and innovation according to international standards of excellence, in the broader discipline of CEE, as well as in related multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields.

The Department of Architecture offers a Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Studies that aims to create a flexible research and design experimentation platform, based on (i) History, Theory, and Criticism in Architecture, (ii) Digital Technologies and Communication Media in Architecture, (iii) Construction Technology and Sustainable Design, and (iv) Urban Design and Planning.

The program aims at qualified graduates who will be ready to be actively involved in the actual restoration and conservation of historic buildings and sites. The academic objectives of the program involve high-level graduate teaching and practical application of the knowledge gained by students in case studies.

There are professional opportunities for civil and environmental engineers in both private practice and public services. Graduates from the Master’s program in “Civil Engineering” may pursue careers in design, construction, maintenance, management, or research and development. For example, in urban or developing population areas and industrial centers, civil and environmental engineers serve the public as planners, designers, and supervisors of transportation systems, water resources projects, pollution control facilities, and private and public utility enterprises.

The Final International University Department of Architecture was founded in 2017. Its undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science honors degree is taught in English. The program has been proposed to educate the professional conceptual thinkers and skilled architects who have ethical and critical thinking standards, to be able to increase the awareness of the society by considering cultural and environmental values. The aim is to fosterage an ability to develop a systematic approach to problems, to create reliable designs for a building or a city in a different dimension.

The aim of this faculty is to train architects and engineers who are able to meet the requirements of the era, who take into account human, nature and structured environmental balances, who produce creative and scientific solutions to the problems of the world we live in taking into account universal values, and who have leadership skills, self-confidence, and entrepreneurial professional responsibilities and who are innovative.

In Cyprus, where the tradition of Gardening and Landscaping is relatively small, the Mediterranean climate creates particular challenges, but with a special adaptation of traditional methods, materials and practices. The two-year programme "Gardening" is a professional programme which, in the direction of the word "learn to do", introduces the students to historical and modern practices and techniques for Gardening, Cultivation and Arboriculture, which are appropriate for the Mediterranean climate. The programme is geared to the Gardening for dry-thermal environments, seaside landscapes and mountainous areas.

The Bachelor of Design (BDes) degree is a four-year programme that offers pathways for specialisation in four specific design fields. Working in collaborative, dedicated studio spaces, you will cultivate skills and learn design theories, methods, and processes that will help develop and refine your ideas. This course will develop your extensive understanding of Design disciplines and guide you in the development of your creative, critical and technical skills required to pursue a career in today’s ever-evolving design professions across a range of industries.

The 'Civil & Environmental Engineering' Program covers all theoretical and practical knowledge which is necessary for the analysis, design, construction, and management of technical projects, systems, and critical infrastructure. These activities are directly linked to the urban, regional, agricultural, transportation, and energy development of modern societies.

In the rapidly changing conditions of the natural and structured environment, the role of the Civil Engineer in society is constantly being upgraded, as the challenges become more and more complex. The depletion of natural resources, climate change, pollution and the effects on structures due to their aging, are challenges that must be addressed through a sustainability framework that will propose solutions. These solutions should not only br techno-economically optimal, but also environmentally friendly. The Master in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Planning aims at the high level of training of students in the fields of Civil Engineering with emphasis on sustainable planning and management of the natural and structured environment.

Civil Engineering is the study, application, and practice of using science and engineering technologies to deal with the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of sustainable infrastructures. The Civil engineering field started its work in 2017 as one of the primary fields in the Faculty of Engineering at Final International University. With up to date facilities and laboratories this faculty will equip the students with practical knowledge of civil engineering.
