An architecture study program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the principles, theories, and practical skills necessary for designing and constructing buildings and spaces. In a 4-week program, the Tropical Architecture Summer School at Institut Desain & Bisnis Bali (formerly known as Sekolah Tinggi Desain Bali STDB) provides international students and graduates with insights into the tropical architecture of Southeast Asia. In a comprehensive course, participants will work together on complex tasks about architecture and urban design, planning and construction, design, landscape architecture, interior design, and resort design.

The 15-week program “Tropical Architecture, Interior & Green Design” at the Institut Desain & Bisnis Bali (IDB Bali), formerly known as Sekolah Tinggi Desain & Bisnis Bali (STDBali), is designed exclusively as a semester abroad for international students and graduates.

In the Southeast Asian Architecture Program, you’ll spend 15 transformative weeks diving deep into Southeast Asia’s architectural heritage. It is an immersion into the art of designing for tropical climates, respecting cultural heritage, and blending ancient wisdom with modern needs.

UKDW Architecture Department’s 2016 Curriculum is the improved version of 2008’s curriculum by applying Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia (KKNI) to the competencies given in the Architecture Undergraduate Program. These competencies refer to 13 Architect Competencies by Union Internationale des Architectes – International Union of Architects (UIA) that are also adopted by Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) and the Indonesian Institute of Architects as Indonesia’s Architect Profession Organization. In this 2016 curriculum, the integration of architect’s competence focuses on a series of studio practice-based subjects, which are Architecture Design Studio and Construction Structure Studio.

Master in Architecture is focusing on Tropical Architecture compatible with Indonesian climate and geography.

Bachelor degree program of design studies in Architecture or Sarjana Arsitektur (S.Ars) is 4 years program pre-professional program which has four years duration (8 semesters). This program has totally 150 credits with 8 integrated studios in every semester as curriculum backbone and supported by groups of courses in institutional characters, building sciences and technology, history and urbanism, architectural communication, and advocacy and professions.

Magister Perencanaan Wilayah dan Kota (MPWK) or Master Programme in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) was established in 1994. The establishment of MURP started off with the idea that planning is tremendously needed in the country and the nation’s development; the urge to take part in providing planning education that could disseminate planning ability and way of thinking to society that could affect future development’s direction decision; and the importance of human resources and planning knowledge to support development in planning studies. Until 2017, the name of the degree programme was Magister Perencanaan Kota dan Daerah (Master Programme of City and Regional Planning).
