7 Architecture and Urban Design Degree Programs in Hungary

International Studies Center University of Pécs Medical School offers a complex and integrated preparatory program in English for Architecture and Engineering that meets the language development needs of international students and facilitate their integration into the context of higher education in Hungary. International programs at Hungarian universities minimally require B2 (upper-intermediate) language level and you have to be knowledgeable in your chosen field of studies for admission.

The Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) in Architecture programme of the Doctoral School covers architecture and urban architecture programmes dealing with various aspects of planning (architecture of social spaces, architectural planning and design, production environment planning, residential environment planning, settlement planning)

This programme in MSc in Architecture trains students to apply their complex knowledge in the areas of architecture and urban planning, as well as in the multi-faceted field of environment formation in general (architectural design, town and country planning, preservation of built heritage, structural design, construction work, management and administration tasks, consulting with authorities, teaching, etc.)

This program in BSc + MSc in Architecture trains students to apply their complex knowledge in the areas of architecture and urban planning, as well as in the multi-faceted field of environment formation in general (architectural design, town and country planning, preservation of built heritage, structural design, construction work, management and administration tasks, consulting with authorities, teaching, etc.) In addition, students are prepared for their professional planning license once they have gained the prerequisite practical experience as required by the relevant regulations.

The MA (MSc) in Landscape Architecture and Garden Design is a professional master’s programme (4 semesters / 120 credits) that trains creative, artistically skilled landscape architects able to design and manage the implementation of public parks, historical gardens, institutional and villa gardens, and landscape artworks.

Our MSc is especially for bachelor graduates who want to advance their personal and professional development in the field of architectural design. The program leads to an Óbuda University degree, accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee and linked to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The stringent quality criteria applied by the Accreditation Committee are based on European standards for higher education. The aim of the training is to prepare students for being able to apply their complex knowledge in the fields of environmental development in general, and architecture in particular. Significant emphasis is laid on theoretical foundations and on design training, respectively, at a high standard. Creative and technical fields are well balanced, with developing various skills in visual arts and engineering. The academic staff of the Faculty has proven expertise in Central-Eastern European Countries, as well as inside and outside the European region. This offers our candidates the possibility to discuss and initiate programs and projects in their respective native countries.

Students will learn about the mathematical foundations of 3D modeling. Students will learn how to build a specific software product on that, such as 3D building modeling (BIM: Building Information Modeling). They will be confronted with the fact that less than 5% of such an application is dealing with 3D modeling, while the other 95% is indispensible in order to have a usable application.
