This Master's Degree Program aims to produce experts in philology, ancient literature, ancient history, and archaeology. According to the curriculum chosen, students will acquire specialist skills and methods in archaeology, ancient art and material culture history, languages, and literature of ancient Greek and Latin civilizations or ancient history (including Greek, Roman, and ancient East history).

The MLitt in Biblical Languages and Literature offers students with existing competence in Biblical languages the opportunity to increase their linguistic and exegetical skills through sustained close and critical engagement with the Biblical texts and themes.

The doctoral program in "Texts of Classical Antiquity and its Survival" is an interuniversity program in which the universities of Salamanca, Valladolid and Santiago de Compostela collaborate. It gives continuity to an official Postgraduate program that since 2006 the universities of Salamanca and Valladolid have been maintaining, with the corresponding adaptations to the legal situation, which repeatedly obtained the mention of excellence and a doctorate in Classical Philology from the USC.

Ancient Studies Focusing on the study of the cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome, Ancient Studies provides a rigorous, interdisciplinary education that spans 3,500 years of human history and continues to be relevant in the present. In addition to courses in Greek and Latin language that form the foundation of the discipline, the department offers an array of fascinating courses in the myth and literature, archaeology and history, politics, society, and cultures of the Ancient world.

Investigate for yourself the narratives from and about the Greco-Roman world: their literatures, mythologies, the material remains, and languages. Interrogate the puzzles that are still unsolved and unsolvable, from ancient medical treatments to gladiatorial combat. Ancient and Medieval History examines the political, economic and social development of Europe and Asia from the 4th century to the 15th century C.E. During the course of your studies, you'll gain research and analytical capabilities, written and verbal communication skills, and an understanding of how societies and their internal structures can evolve over time.

Encompassing the ancient world from the western Mediterranean to East Asia, from the Neolithic to the Early Medieval period, ISAW is focused on creating a new generation of scholars whose work crosses over the disciplinary boundaries of traditional departments. In this way, knowledge of the cultures, art, languages, religions, economic systems, and interactions of the ancient world can be deepened and expanded.

Classics is the study of the Greeks and Romans—especially their languages (Greek and Latin)—and their interactions with other cultures, from prehistoric through medieval times.
