By studying Interior Design at AAS College graduates will be with knowledge and understanding along with skill sets, attributes and behaviours that provide them with the potential to be an effective contributor in the global community of Interior Design including event design, set design and consultancy practices. To achieve this the course embraces a distinctive focussed study upon human needs and desires in a consumerist society. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to build upon the understanding of the importance of being socially and culturally aware as a designer, becoming conscious of their potential influence and need to embrace ethically considered practices and apply considered personal as well as professional codes.

Canada’s only three-year Landscape Design Ontario College Advanced Diploma program offers a hybrid studio learning model, which combines traditional studio practice with computer-aided design to create designs and technical working drawings for a variety of project scales. Students learn design supported through emerging and current industry-based computer technologies to visualize, communicate and present designs using CADD, 3D modelling, visualization, illustration, and digital photography techniques.

This qualification provides you with the skills and competencies to be an interior designer. Additionally, graduates will learn how to develop creative and technical solutions for built interior environments. Interior designers will learn the planning and detailing of complex residential, commercial and institutional design projects with an emphasis on space creation, space planning and the factors that affect people’s responses to living and working environments.

The BA (Hons) Interior Design course explores the human scale and relationship in the continuously changing context of spatial environments.

The Department of Architecture, Interior and Product Design runs a one-semester spatial and environmental based curriculum common to all first-year Higher Diploma students studying in Architecture, Interior and Landscape Design. The programme aims primarily at students who have completed their secondary school education and expect to take up specialist spatial and environmental design studies. It is designed to reflect the context of basic design and creative knowledge and skills which serve as an introduction to, and preparation for, the year one students for the next four to five-semester study in their respective professional design programmes.

The Department of Architecture, Interior and Product Design runs a one-semester three-dimensional broad-based curriculum common to all first-year Higher Diploma students studying in Event and Exhibition Design, and Stage and Set Design.
