The Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design qualification reflects the skills, knowledge and traits of a specialist designer. A commercially viable designer is one who has both creative and conceptual skills in visual communication but also knows how to market themselves, conceive ideas, negotiate and realise design solutions. As a student of this course, you will meet real-life, complex communication challenges and apply critical thinking skills to develop effective design solutions.

The three-year Graphic Design Ontario College Advanced Diploma program helps you apply your creativity to communicating ideas and concepts in both print and interactive media. Using a combination of theoretical and hands-on learning, you gain skills in design, typography, image, color, coding, motion graphics, interaction, and production from industry-connected faculty. You learn to be a problem-solver who can manage and execute visual design projects.

Overview Level 4 course (Available to UK/EU students) This is a dynamic, intensive and creative course that covers a wide range of specialist areas and helps you prepare a portfolio to assist with entry to a higher education course in an art and design subject. The qualification has been designed to encourage exploration, experimentation and risk taking, which will extend the learners’ critical independence and enable them to demonstrate a full understanding of the relevant standards required to achieve progression to higher education.

This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

This two-year course is for enthusiastic and highly motivated creatives who want to gain experience in working with high-end, industry-standard graphics packages to develop a broad range of digital media projects. Our iMac suites and professional software will enable you to learn exciting new skills and unlock your potential in order to gain employment within the design industry, work as a freelance or progress to university.
