This course is the starting point for the Level 1 in Accounting programme. From this course, students will gain an understanding of how different businesses operate across the public and private sector. They will learn how they can effectively contribute in the workplace by working with others, managing their time and behaving professionally. Students will gain an understanding of the ways in which businesses process sales and purchases and the documentation and procedures used to move goods and services between businesses. This a four-week course with the exam being taken in the fourth week. Students will receive a certificate up to six weeks after the successful completion of the exam.

This course is the third one in the Level one programme. Students enrolling on this course should have completed the Level 1 Business Skills and Computerised Accounting. This course introduces students to the role of the bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques. It covers the buying and selling process and the common documents used. The course also includes recording transactions in the books of prime entry. Students will develop an understanding of the manual bookkeeping process and be introduced to the concept of double-entry bookkeeping. This course lasts for five weeks with the exam being taken in the fifth week. Students will receive a certificate within six weeks of a successful exam result.

The Award in Accounting Software introduces students to the basics of using accounting software. Students that complete this qualification will understand the benefits and risks of using accounting software. They will learn how to set up accounts and record bank and cash transactions using an accounting software package. They will learn how to use the software package to produce a range of reports suitable for uploading.

The Level 2 in Art and Design Photography course is a general art and design program aimed at young people who have a specific interest in developing photography skills. The core units in this course are general art and design-focused, so all students will be expected to develop their drawing skills, research artists' and designers' work and develop a portfolio of work and sketchbooks. As the course develops students will then develop more specialist skills as an introduction to photography. This will include darkroom skills, digital photography, and photographic manipulation using a range of creative techniques.

SUMMARY OF COURSE This is a one year course which provides you with an insight into the Travel and Tourism industry and the different careers available. The method of learning is a mixture of both tutor-led and practical sessions.

To be able progress onto this course you should have complete the AAT Level 1 Business Skills qualification as this is the second course in the Level 1 Accounting Programme. The Award in Computerised Accounting introduces students to the basics of using accounting software. This course is for students aged 19+ who have been out of education for at least one year post 18. This is a Full Level 3 programme (i.e. at the same level as A Levels, NVQ Level 3 or a BTEC Extended Diploma). It is the most popular route of entry into Higher Education for adults. There are class based sessions, tutorials and independent study and research. You will build a personal portfolio of your completed assignments as you progress through the course.

The Access to Medical Science course is designed to provide mature (19+) learners with essential knowledge and skills that will support their progression directly onto university in courses associated with science, medical science, paramedic science, radiography, health studies and many more. The content includes a range of units that will provide the underpinning knowledge and skills required for further study. The course usually runs over 3/4 days, between the hours of 9-3pm and is made up of mature students wishing to start/change their career or whose interest lies in the associate subject field.
