Advanced Certificate in Mental Health the 24-credit advanced certificate in mental health counseling is a bridge program that addresses the needs of two distinct cohorts, both requiring supplemental coursework and training to qualify for licensure as mental health counselors in New York State.

The Advanced Certificate in Trauma and Disaster Mental Health consists of 15 credits three required core courses Disaster Mental Health Evidence Based Assessment and Treatment for Trauma and Assessment and Interventions with Children, Adolescents, and Families, plus two electives to allow students to focus on populations of interest.

The Behavioral Health Aide (BHA) program is the result of a collaboration between Iḷisaġvik College and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC). A Behavioral Health Aide provides a wide range of frontline behavioral health services to rural communities in Alaska, in communities where they are often the top level of providers available. This certificate program is the first step towards an Associate of Applied Science degree. Students graduating with the certificate are on a pathway to higher-level careers, such as a bachelor's and/or master’s degree in social work or psychology.

The Advanced Clinical Certificate is designed for licensed massage therapists to advance their scope of practice to work more closely with healthcare professionals as part of the team or individually. All graduates will be prepared to sit for the massage licensing exam (MBLEx) to become licensed practising massage professionals.

The Mandl Dental Assistant credit-bearing, the licensure-qualifying program includes patient care, experiences in a fully-equipped, on-site facility, and externship experiences in clinics and dental offices. This program trains you in all aspects of working with a dentist, including patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Our balance of hands-on experience with classroom instruction covers all aspects of dental assistant skills and related theory. Whether you use your dental assistant training for a career in back office patient care or in an administrative capacity, you are well prepared at the program’s completion. As a dental assistant, you will prepare patients to see the dentist, assist the dentist with back-office patient care during patient care, and care for the treatment room and instruments, including all infection control procedures. You will be responsible for taking and processing dental x-rays, performing basic laboratory procedures, and providing patient education.

The Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine Program is designed for licensed acupuncturists and graduates of acupuncture degree programs who wish to add herbal expertise as a component of their professional practices without having to complete an entire Traditional Chinese Medicine degree program.
