However, You Can Choose Economics With Any a Level/equivalent Combination.

In year one you will examine issues like competitive markets and uncover the reasons why some markets fail.

A Level Accounting is a two-year course that will allow you to study a range of topics such as financial and management accounting. Many students who enjoy and complete this subject typically progress onto a range of degree courses including Accounting, Business Studies, Finance, Management and Economics.

This interesting course will help you understand more about business and government decision-making. The flexible syllabus allows us to cover a wide range of topical issues, ensuring your studies will be relevant to economic events and the real world. Microeconomics: this explores the behaviour of individuals, firms and markets. The focus is government policy with regards to competition and inequality. You will also explore how governments can increase economic growth, reduce inflation and unemployment and deal with recession and the problems of high government and consumer debt.

You will gain knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of economic theories and policies and the impact which these have on the economy and on economic agents. You will also compare the likely effectiveness of economic policies in relation to the achievement of particular economic objectives, as well as develop the ability to make both microeconomic and macroeconomic decisions in specific contexts. You will also confront issues, tackle the challenges these issues raise and engage in debate and in debate and discussion with fellow students.

This course is ideal for learners who enjoy working with numbers, particularly analysing and interpreting data. They enjoy using data to make and test hypotheses and drawing conclusions in a wide range of contexts. Have an interest in analysing and interpreting data. Wish to study a numerical course but do not wish to study pure mathematics. Wish to support other subjects that involve the analysis of data.
