13 Business A-level Programs

The syllabus covers economic, environmental, ethical, governmental, legal, social and technological issues, and encourages a critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and the process of adding value. Learners examine the management of organisations and, in particular, the process of decision-making in a dynamic external environment.

A Level Business is a qualification highly valued by universities and is an excellent pathway to include degrees in Business Management, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing and Accounting. The course provides an excellent understanding of business concepts that will assist you within the commercial world, whether running your own business or as an employee. A Level of Business Studies could lead you to a wide range of career choices, including Marketing Executive roles, Accountancy, Events Management, Management Consultancy and working in human resources.

This a Level is Included Within the Following a Level Pathways as a Recommended Core Subject: Business and Entrepreneurship; Financial Academy and in the Following Pathways as a Recommended Additional Subject: Creative Arts; Design and Media; Engineering; Law and Legal. However, You Can Choose Business With Any a Level/equivalent Combination, There is Plenty of Choice and Flexibility.

Further study and career opportunities If you’d like to study business, finance or management at university, A-level Business provides an excellent foundation. Progress to a HND in Business at University Centre Peterborough or other business degrees at university in areas such as Management, Marketing, HR or Finance. Business apprenticeships in sectors such as Accounting, Business Administration, Customer Service and Management are also available.

It demonstrates the interrelated nature of business using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations. The content is designed to engage students through topics and issues that are relevant in today's society. In addition to the classic business functions you will study key contemporary developments such as digital technology and business ethics, while the impact of globalisation is covered throughout the topics.

The Business & Finance, A Level Professional Honours Programme, will help you to understand the nature and scope of business and financial functions and the economic environment in which they exist.

The A Level programme is studied at Level 3 over a two year period. You will study in a traditional way where your final grades will be based on end of year exams.
