Turkey’s application process is more akin to that of the United States than those of many other European countries. You need to apply to each individual school you want to attend rather than through a central application system. 

Find a program

Before you start sending applications off, you’ll need to gather some documents. These can vary from school to school and program to program, but here’s a general outline of what you need:

  • Your high school transcript or a document outlining your expected grades
  • Transcript of any other academic records
  • Language proficiency score in the language of tuition - normally English or Turkish
  • Letter of motivation
  • A letter confirming that you have the funds to cover your tuition fees
  • Pay the application fee (generally about US$35 - US$100)

For postgraduate and doctoral level studies, you might also need to include an academic and/or a professional CV. Check all entry requirements carefully before applying. Be sure to keep all confirmation of application letters and receipts as you’ll need to include this with your student visa application if you’re admitted somewhere.
