Study in Malta: Tuition Fees & Scholarships

Tuition fees in Malta are dependent on your nationality and what you’re studying. But, even if you have to pay, they are still low. They are charged per semester. There are no fees for Maltese citizens as well as nationals of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Third-country nationals pay €1080 ($1300) per semester for all courses, except for science and engineering courses, which are charged at €1360 ($1640).

Tuition fees in Malta are dependent on your nationality and what you’re studying. But, even if you have to pay, they are still low. They are charged per semester.

There are no fees for Maltese citizens as well as nationals of the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Third-country nationals pay €1080 ($1300) per semester for all courses, except for science and engineering courses, which are charged at €1360 ($1640). Fees don’t vary too much depending on the level of study. Before arriving in Malta, you’ll need to pay a deposit of between €240 - €1080 ($290 - $1300).

As for student loans, these are open to Maltese citizens only, so you’ll need to be able to self-support throughout your studies. That being said, there are a number of scholarships open to international students. 

The Ministry for Education lists available scholarships here. Chief among these is the ENDEAVOUR Scholarships Scheme. It’s aimed principally at those looking to research and who have a good, workable idea. You can find out more about it here. Some schools also offer their own scholarships. When applying, you can look and see if any of them are applicable to you and your subject area.
