Campus Features

Kent State offers on-campus housing and there are plenty off-campus apartments that are available for students.

Kent State is a big residential school with 24 residence hall on campus. While living in an environment that promotes safety, students also benefit from the opportunity to learn about other cultures and lifestyles, form lifelong friendships and make lasting memories.

The concepts of self-respect and respect for others, tolerance of and celebration of diversity, ethical behavior and personal growth are fostered via staff intervention, community-based educational and social programs and the expectation that hall residents hold one another accountable.

    Every year, we award over $3 million in merit-based scholarships to our international students. Scholarships are free aid that can help you pay for your degree, especially if you have a strong academic background.

    As an international student, you’re qualified for many of the Kent State scholarships:

    • Undergraduate (Freshmen and transfer students): Global Scholarship
    • Freshmen Only: International Freshman Scholarship
    • Graduate: Graduate Assistantships

    The city of Kent has approximately 28,000 residents and is ideally situated in Northeast Ohio. We enjoy all four seasons through the year: spring, summer, fall, and winter.
