United States, a Bachelor of Science degree is a specialized version of a B.A, where the student has focused more on one specific subject than is common in a
liberal arts degree. It is also common for vocational areas of study such as journalism or engineering to be given a B.Sc degree.

Canada, the definition of a science varies once again. Here commonly also between schools. One institution may well award a BA in Economics, while the other considers this a BSc degree. Some schools also award a BSc no matter what you choose to study, even if the major subject would traditionally be considered to lie within the field of the arts. These differences are usually based on history and tradition, rather than more substantial elements.
What is required to be awarded a Bachelor of Science is further different across the globe. In Germany the B.Sc. was equivalent to a B.Sc. Honours degree, normally awarded in four years instead of three. The German system along with many others in Europe are now changing their systems into the Ba/Ma system.
