Sales is a popular area for vocational courses. These will focus on the specific skills necessary for a position in for example sales, purchasing or marketing in particular. Vocational courses also often include practical elements where you do on the job training at companies in the area. This way you get an opportunity to form contacts that can help you find employment after your course is finished.

The future looks bright for a career in sales. It does however depend on your choice of education, where you live and what you have chosen to focus your studies on. In today's job environment, competition is harsh, and many have taken a more specializing approach to their education. Often this can increase your chances to find employment in your specific area. Sales is generally the part of the work force that may continue growing even in tough times. Without sales, companies do not generate any profits. Further education in sales on top of for example a technical background can be a very good career move, as sales personnel with specialized product knowledge are always sought after, and hard to find.
