Dear Sir,
I am a Bangladeshi citizen and government officer. I completed B. Sc, Agriculture & M. S. in Agronomy (both first class) Bangladesh Agricultural University of Mymensingh. I worked about 5 years as a Scientific Officer (Agronomy Division). Now I have been servicing as a field level officer of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Bangladesh. I have published 13 scientific papers (8 home & 5 abroad). In farmers field main problem is pest management. I want to develop my carrier on Integrated Pest Management. So I shall want to higher study in your university.
Higher Study on Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Justification of study
I am working as an Additional Agriculture Officer, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of Bangladesh. I am directly related to work in the farmer’s field. I always face to farmer’s problem. In farmer’s field insect, disease, weed etc. reduce crop production. In our agro-ecology 98% insects are beneficial for crop production and rest 2% harmful. Every year 30% crop production loss due to pest infestation. But our farmers did not know how to damage and how to manage their crop. They did not identify properly. The causal agent may be insect/disease/weed/nutrition. To protect their crop, they buy insecticide/pesticide from dealer share with knowledge. This is why environment goes to degradation day by day. In my observation at first to identify the causal agent, which pest damages their crops? So I build up my carrier in this aspect. Then I will disseminate new idea to our farmers. From this opportunity I shall be able a sound knowledge person about Integrated Pest Management. Side by side our farmers would be benefited and they produce more production with friendly environment. My country also would be benefited share with your cooperation.
Objectives
-To minimize yield loss caused by pests
- To develop environment conservation
- Farmers would be benefited as well as country
- To identify causal agent
- To reduce the use of pesticide
- To develop my carrier through earning knowledge.
