On 1st August 2007, the University of Paisley and Bell College merged to create Scotland’s biggest modern university with campuses in Ayr, Dumfries, Hamilton and Paisley: the University of the West of Scotland.

With over 18,000 students and almost 2,000 staff, the University of the West of Scotland is unique in its geographical coverage across the West of Scotland.

University_of_the_West_of_Scotland_scotlandScotland is described as 'the land of opportunity'. With a population of over 5 million people, Scotland has a highly skilled workforce and holds an enviable reputation in the fields of engineering, business and the development of innovative technologies.

The Paisley Campus University of the West of Scotland is located in the west of Scotland in the centre of Scotland’s largest town. The campus occupies over 20 acres and is home to teaching, lecture, workshop and laboratory accommodation as well as the library, Students’ Union and some student accommodation.

Set in 20 acres of parkland bordering the River Ayr, the campus is almost self-contained with all teaching, lecture, workshop and laboratory space existing next to the Students’ Union, student accommodation, library and all other student support services.

Located in the heart of Lanarkshire, 11 miles South of Glasgow, the Hamilton campus of the University of the West of Scotland offers a lively, safe and friendly atmosphere.

Located just two miles from the centre of Dumfries, the campus has a beautiful setting in 80 acres of parkland and woods and overlooks the River Nith and the Galloway Hills. Scotland’s newest university campus has received major investment resulting in a new library, ICT suite and new lecture rooms.
