University of Lodz

The industrial city of Lodz (Łódź), home to the University of Lodz, was founded in a place where borders of three empires met: Russia, Austria and Prussia. For many centuries Lodz had been a poor city but in the XIX century it has has gone through rebirth and became one of the fastest developing cities in the world. The city of Lodz is situated in the heart of Poland where the most important European routes cross. For decades Polish, Jewish, German and Russian cultures have been intertwining here. This multicultural heritage gives the city a unique character. Today, the city of Lodz is not only a big and dynamically developing centre of industry, economy and administration but also a city of great potential and a capital city of one of most attractive regions for investors in Poland.

The University provides accommodation in 11 halls of residence with circa 4500 residential facilities. The number of rooms is limited, hence the priority is given to ERASMUS students and to holders of Polish Government s scholarships.
