Welcome to the University of Borås in Sweden!
The University of Borås is an innovative and modern learning hub that incorporates six departments and offers high-quality programmes in the areas of Business & Informatics, Engineering & Health Sciences, Behavioural & Education Sciences, Fashion & Textile Studies and Library & Information Studies.
Renowned for its social relevant research, the University of Borås is located in the centre of the city and has 15,000 students and 650 employees. Since the University of Borås was founded in 1977, the focus has been placed on qualified professions, with a goal of becoming the first professions seat of learning. The University of Borås has a wide range of partnerships with companies and authorities of the surrounding society, and plans and carries out its research with its partners.
The university has the front edge on several exciting research projects, among other things ‘Smart textiles’ which is a preferential research area in the region. Cloth which changes colours when the mobile phone rings, garments which measure muscular frequency and curtains which become lights in the dark are just a few examples.
University of Borås graduates are known to get jobs unusually fast and the university is placed in the top when the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education investigates the employment climate. As a member of the European University Association (EUA), the University of Borås delivers what it promises; Science for Profession.

Borås is a beautiful place. I spent more than a year over here and I still value those days. Its a small town and the people are nice. My Stockholm experience proved it after I studied at KTH for a year too. The hogskolan is a very comfortable, cosy and friendly place to be. Library is such a won...

Kun Xue combines business with engineering while pursuing University of Boras' BSc in Industrial Engineering. Originally she started out studying business at a different Swedish university, but she noticed there was a lot of other students, especially fellow Chinese nationals, who was also just focusing on business. So in order to give herself an advantage she decided to change her path and combine her business studies with engineering.

Meet two scholarship recipients
University of Boras
Khamdan Cahyari and Ryan Anugrah Putra was both granted the Scholarship "Waste Refinery Indonesia" and came to the University of Boras to pursue their MSc study programme in Resource Recovery in Sweden. They have since completed their degrees and returned to Indonesia and here they tell us about their time in Sweden.
