Welcome to find your education at the University of Borås in Sweden: science for the professions!

The University of Borås is a modern university with six departments. The University manages educations in Library and Information Studies, Business and Informatics, Fashion and Textile Studies, Behavioural and Education Sciences, Engineering and Health Sciences. The campus is located in the centre of the city and the University has 11 800 students and 600 employees. Several of the educations can only be found at the University of Borås and this attracts students from all over Sweden.

The University of Borås has the front edge on several exciting research projects, among other things ‘Smart textiles’ which is a preferential research area in the region. Cloth which changes colours when the mobile phone rings, garments which measure muscular frequency and curtains which become lights in the dark are just a few examples. Furthermore, students get jobs unusually fast. The fact is that the University of Borås year after year is placed in the top when the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education investigates the employment situation. The University keeps what it promises. Science for Profession.

Borås

Borås, home to the University of Borås, is a cosy student city where all you need is within walking or biking distance. The city is well known as the host of several of Sweden's trendiest and inviting cafes with ideal sidewalk seating for enjoying the weather during the spring and summer. Borås is also a city identified with its nature as the city parks, bathing areas, and popular zoo are highly recommend and well frequented by the local inhabitants. In addition, a quick ten minute walk from the city centre takes you to the shopping area called Knalleland, which has six million shoppers on a yearly basis.

University of Borås

Borås is a beautiful place. I spent more than a year over here and I still value those days. Its a small town and the people are nice. My Stockholm experience proved it after I studied at KTH for a year too. The hogskolan is a very comfortable, cosy and friendly place to be. Library is such a wonderful place. The only point that I thought is lack of sports facilities/activities in the school. But the primary issue i.e. Education is excellent. Teachers are out of the way helpful. It has various great personalities like Dag Henriksson, Lars Hallnas, Anakajsa and many more.
