Originating in 1870, the University of Ballarat (UB) is the third oldest educational institution in Australia. The University has a long and established history for developing industry linkages and for preparing graduates for employment in Australia and around the world.

The International Student Programs (ISP) section of UB is responsible for the admission, orientation, support and administration of all international students on the Ballarat Campuses. At ISP you will find staff that are committed to ensuring that the educational experience is positive, enjoyable and memorable. Services provided by ISP include:

• re-orientation assistance prior to departure home

BallaratBallarat is a city with strong ties to its historical past. It is a modern, attractive, clean, and friendly place to live. With a population of approximately 100,000, Ballarat is a thriving centre of commerce and industry and a major tourist centre. Ballarat played a signifi cant role during the gold rush era of the 1850s and in the establishment of Australian democracy. Often described as ‘the birthplace of the Australian spirit’, Ballarat has a long and proud history in which the University of Ballarat (UB) has played a pivotal role.

Ballarat is ideally located in the Central Highlands region of
Victoria. It is accessible from Melbourne via a one and a half hour
drive or train journey. Melbourne International Airport is situated
approximately one hour by car from Ballarat.

University_of_Ballarat_housingThe University of Ballarat understands the importance of finding you appropriate accommodation and offers a variety of options from which to choose. Accommodation Services manages and supports you with fi nding accommodation, as well as student living, learning and social environments.

Living in a hall of residence encourages you to make new friends and to maximise your study capabilities. You are also encouraged to treat your residence as home. You are invited to play an active part in improving services provided and planning various social, sporting and cultural activities that are organised during the year.

A wide-range of housing options are available, including: on-campus residences, off-campus residences and houses as well as University of Ballarat managed properties.
