NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti is located in the city of Milan, cutting edge of creativity, where projecting/creativity goes hand in hand with industrial production and commerce. Milan is the place to attend international events, exhibitions and trade fairs such as the International Furniture Fair. Milan's genius has always been characterized, in past and present times, by the combination of hard work and wit. The creative industries, embracing international Design studios, cool hunting agencies, communication and graphic design companies, television production companies, theatres, art galleries, museums and industrial production make Milan a unique place to experience creativity and understand production processes.
The fashion industry finds here one of its highest representations with the haute couture houses of Armani and Dolce and Gabbana as revered captains of industry. The circuit of annual fashion shows and design fairs and exhibitions in the city attracts many international visitors and celebrities. Recently, Milano has been chosen as the host location for the EXPO 2015.
NABA’s location: NABA is located in the historical Navigli district, a system of navigable and interconnected canals that was one of the largest post-medieval engineering projects allowing development of commerce, transport and agriculture in the region. The Naviglio is nowadays one of the liveliest areas as far as entertainment and culture, with its traditional restaurants and artists’ studios.
NABA Campus:NABA has an extensive downtown campus of 6500m2, teaching over 1000 students each year. The premises are part of an industrial complex with notable architectural value that has recently been restored. The campus has been provided with high level IT infrastructure comprising laboratories for computer graphics, editing video, 2D and 3D modelling, sound design, as well as tailoring and printmaking laboratories, painting ateliers, model-making and light design labs.
In order to bring students an efficient help in finding their future home in Milan, NABA enquires at least one month before about their expectations for the accommodation. Specifically, we ask them:
- if they prefer to have a whole apartment on their own or to share it with other people (in this case the two main options are a single room or a double room);
- what is the student’s monthly budget for the rent;
- if there is any other particularity you consider relevant for you.
Here are some hints about cost of renting flats and rooms in Milan:
- A bed in a double room costs from 250€ to 400€
- A single room costs from 350€ to 550€
- A little apartment for one person (20-40 square meters) costs from 600€ to 800€

Usually, if you rent your house directly from a private landlord/landlady, you will have to pay an initial deposit equivalent to 2 or 3 months of rent. The real estate agencies commission for renting you an apartment is around 10% of one year rent. As far as it is possible,
NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti always try to put students in contact with private landlords/landladies.
