Sri Krishnadevaraya University has facilities for undertaking study and research through a well established library and laboratories.

Sri krishnadevaraya University had its beginning as the Post Graduate centre of Sri Venkateswara University in the year 1968. It gained autonomy in the year 1976. Fulfilling the desires of the people of the region, the Autonomous Post Graduate centre was given the status of a University in the Year 1981.

Post-Graduate courses and research programmes are presently offered by Sri Krishnadevaraya University at the University College, Anantapur and at the Post Graduate centre, Kurnool. The University College offers 38 post graduate courses through 28 departments. 11 post graduate courses are being conducted at the P.G. centre, Kurnool through 8 departments.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University is contributing to the cause of higher education through 112 affiliated degree colleges of which 7 are meant exclusively for women. The other colleges affiliated to the University include 26 Colleges of Education, 2 Oriental Colleges, 2 Law Colleges and one Engineering College. 20 affiliated colleges under the University also offer post graduate courses in various disciplines.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University has facilities for undertaking study and research through well established library and laboratories. The students, besides the opportunities for academic advancement, are provided with facilities such as outdoor stadium, playgrounds, gymnasium, E-Class Room, INFLIBNET, Internet and computer networks for their overall personality development. The infrastructure of the University also includes Bhuvana Vijayam Auditorium, Janmabhoomi Canteen, Sabari Guest House, Health centre, Adhyapak Bhavan, NSS Building and several buildings for teaching departments and residential quarters.

Admissions into several PG and PG diploma courses in the College of Arts & Commerce, College of Science & Technology and PG centres are based on ranks obtained in a common entrance test called SKUCET conducted by Andhra University, while admissions into MBA and MCA courses are made on the basis of common entrance test (ICET) conducted by Government of A.P.
Admission to College of Engineering (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm.) is done through a common entrance test, called EAMCET, for admission into all Colleges of Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine in A.P. and for seats earmarked for A.P. in Regional Engineering Colleges.

The Central library of Sri Krishnadevaraya Universityis provided with a rich and varied collection of 114000 books, 190 periodicals and 118 magazines and other holdings enriched primarily on account of the generous support extended by the UGC. The library consists of a separate section for helping the students to prepare for the competitive examinations at various levels. The library has back volumes on the stacks numbering 13,600.

The University College provides facilities for a wide range of sports and games. It has a modern gymnasium which is equipped with the latest gymnastic and fitness gadgets like the multigym. The Gym provides facilities for indoor games like shuttle badminton, table-tennis, chess, carroms, besides Weightlifting and malkhamb. The renovated University stadium provides facilities for cricket, foot ball, and athletics. There are also courts for ball badminton, basket ball, volley ball, tennis, etc.
