The Department of Law, Governance and International Relations combines a professionally recognized education with innovative and socially oriented courses. The program has developed strong bonds with the professional sector, central and local regimes and mass media organizations, which are helpful in providing students with internship and career opportunities. The Law Graduate Employability Network (LAGREN) at the university is a specially established network of firms and bureaus.

The new department building contains a mock court room, excellent teaching facilities and meeting areas. Both university campuses offer well filled archives, media and IT-services and computer rooms. The students all have passwords to several leading electronic databases, including Westlaw UK.

The research within power- and international relations conducted by The Department of Law, Governance and International Relations has been judged as one of the best in the nation. Within the department, it is the Institute of Human Rights and Social Justice and the City Center for International Commercial Law, which carries out research and consulting services.

Application and qualification

  • A senior high school diploma with a good average grade
  • Language requirements are as follows.
    • IELTS: 5.5. With all parts 5.0 or higher
    • TOEFL: 550 or 213 I the computer based test with a 4 in TWE (Test of Written English)
    • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE): with a Grade B
    • Cambridge Advanced (CAE): with Grade C

If you apply for full time study, HND or an undergraudate degree, which start in September 2009, apply through UCAS.

London

London Metropolitan University campus in northern London is located in Islington on and around Holloway Road. Only a few minute’s walk from the school campus, you will find Upper Street and Hollway Road bars, cafés and restaurants for all tastes and budgets. The area around campus is full of houses from different periods, antiquity markets and large park areas. For those of you interested in football this is also home for the Arsenal foot ball team.

There are great communications in the area. If you want to go in to central London you can take the tube from: Holloway Road (Picadilly Line) or Highbury and Islington (Victoria Line). Trains run from Highbury & Islington and Drayton Park
