International Business and Languages
The International Business and Languages programme prepares students for a career in international business. Graduates typically find employment as an export, account or communications manager.

The International Business and Languages course has a strong international flavour. As well as on economic subjects, the emphasis of this programme is on language and culture. Students are given ample opportunity to study overseas; an overseas placement constitutes a compulsory component of the programme.

The International Business and Languages department has set up a collaborative partnership with Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge (United Kingdom) and IUP de Commerce International of the Université Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand (France). If you spend at least one year studying overseas, you will receive two separate degrees, namely your Dutch diploma and a British Bachelor Honours Degree or the French Maitrise.

The themes of the course subjects are derived from professional practice. The projects are modelled on real-life business processes. To gain relevant work experience, you will undertake a placement in the fifth and the eighth semester.

To prepare optimally for your demanding career, you will be expected to acquire a number of practical skills during your study. You will develop your analytical abilities, learn how to troubleshoot and solve problems, uncover your management qualities and improve your communication skills.

Zuyd University is a university of applied sciences situated in the Dutch province of Limburg, the southernmost part of the Netherlands. This strategic location is at the heart of one of Europe's most important and prosperous regions, the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion. Brussels and Antwerp (Belgium) and the German Ruhr area are scarcely an hour's drive away, and cities such as Frankfurt and Paris just a few hours.

Zuyd University has a staff of more than 1,550 working at three different locations in the cities of Maastricht, Heerlen and Sittard-Geleen. Its student body numbers well over 13,200.

Zuyd University offers the widest range of programmes. With the exception of agricultural science, it practically offers every programme availabe in the Netherlands, plus a number of international study programmes. The approximately fifty programmes are divided into six different sectors:
