The International Business Management program was ranked in second place for employability and international profile in a recent study by the German Commission for University Development (CHE) and the German taskforce of Human Resource managers (DAPM).

If you are you looking for an exciting Bachelor’s program in international business, with an integrated study semester abroad, an internship in the industry and a class of 40 students from around the world, then we invite you to join us at HFU Business School.

To start off, you spend 4 semesters on campus, acquiring a solid foundation in business studies, social and intercultural competencies and substantial language skills in Chinese, Spanish, French or German.

Then you set off for your study semester at one of the 48 international partner universities and an internship semester at a corporation or a medium-sized company in the USA, China, France, Mexico, Argentina, Australia or Germany, among others. In your last semester of the International Business Management program, you will round off your education by writing your final bachelor’s thesis.

Admission requirements

Admission to the International Business Management program is limited.  Admission is based both on grades and on an additional process involving a range of selection criteria.

Applicants must submit all the required information stated in the application form, including officially certified copies of original and translated certificates. These certifications must be made by the German Embassy in your country, it is important that every certificate submitted carries the official stamp of the German Embassy. Should there be any problems or queries regarding your qualifications, you will be notified.

Entry requirements:

- High school or college degree
- Good knowledge of English (about 7 years or 530 TOEFL-P disjoint)
- For the Francophone world study focus, you also need good knowledge of French (4 to 5 years of school French or equivalent level)
- For the Hispanic world study focus, you also need good knowledge of Spanish (4 to 5 years of school Spanish or equivalent level)
- For the study on China there are no language requirements

Since all courses in 'International Business Management' are taught in English, applicants are not required to take a German-language examination.

Regional focus

The IBM degree program is taught in English, which enables students of many nations to attend, thus achieving a truly international study experience.

International students focus first on Germany and the EU. German students choose Chinese, Spanish or French. In addition to learning the language itself, you will be exposed to economic structures, the history and cultures, business practices, laws and social systems of the region you choose: China, French-speaking world, Spanish-speaking world or European Union.

All students, except native English speakers, take Communication for Business Purposes, which polishes your communication skills, using English for presentations, negotiations, and other business areas.

Non-native speakers of German study: German as a foreign language, with the aim of helping you to achieve fluency after two years.

German native speakers choose from: Chinese, French or Spanish. Native speakers of English take: German as their first foreign language and choose Spanish, French or Chinese as their second.

International Student Support

To support international student´s integration HFU Business School offers an Orientation Program prior to the start of the semester. This will help with all the necessary legal paperwork, arranging accomodation as well as providing intensive courses in German as a Foreign Language and survival skills.
