Lethbridge College offers a
Fish and Wildlife Technology programme. This programme gives students the skills they need to build their careers as a technicians in wildlife, fisheries and natural resource fields.
Students on this programme become adept at capturing, handling and radio-tracking fish, waterfowl and wildlife, and in habitat measurement, assessment and monitoring skills.
Imagine standing by a prairie lake with a live pintail in your hands, collecting data that could one day result in a healthier environment for all waterfowl and you begin to understand why you wanted into the field in the first place. You'll study the practical application of physical and biological sciences and learn how to use state-of-the-art software and technology including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications in wildlife habitat management, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) equipment in animal tracking, and the latest habitat modelling software.
