Oxford is famous for its architecture, rowing and scenic riverside walks. And it’s easy to see why Oxford has been voted the top city in the UK for culture for the last two years running as it is brimming with theatres, live music venues, museums and art galleries. As well as a wide range of high street, charity and independent shops, it also has a covered market, which was established in 1774. You’ll also find a buzzing nightlife, with plenty of bars, pubs and nightclubs on offer. Oxford’s main multicultural area, Cowley Road, is a popular destination for students as the area is full of exciting places to eat and drink and you can find somewhere to suit all budgets. And if you want to visit London it’s only one hour away by train and there are also cheap, frequent buses to and from the capital, and Heathrow and Gatwick airports, which run 24 hours a day.
