Economics
In
most cases, the success of a company in the competitive environment
depends on the ability to realize the overall situation, identify
problems, and effectively choose and apply the methods of economic
management. Nowadays, intuition and experience are not enough for an
economist to complete the tasks related to the collection of economic
information and analysis, simulation and forecasting of economic
processes, selection of economic management tools, etc. It is necessary
to be well aware of the methods of modern qualitative and quantitative
analysis and management.
As a new member of the EU, Lithuania
feels the increased need for experts ready to analyze and assess
economic processes in various companies or institution. Businesses and
state institutions are looking for economists who are able to analyze and simulate economic processes on macro and micro levels.
The objective of the Economics Programme
is to educate analytically minded economists who will be able to manage
modern economic processes in the dynamic and integrated business
environment.
