Founded in 1908, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie became ”École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs” in 1948. It is an engineering school funded by the French Ministry of Education, Research and Technology.

The Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie is one of the founders of the National Polytechnique Institute of Lorraine (INPL) along with six other engineering schools and a school of Architecture.

Situated in Nancy, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie has a central position in the European community. Over a period of three years the ENSG trains general engineers who acquire in depth knowledge in geosciences: it is the only engineering school in France to offer this type of training.

Moreover, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie also delivers other french diplomas like BTS (technician level), MASTER. It is also involved in various specialized trainings (post-graduate or adapted to firms demand).

NancyNancy, home to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie, is a city and commune in the Lorraine région of northeastern France.

The Place Stanislas named after the king of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and duke of Lorraine Stanisław Leszczyński, Place de la Carrière, and Place d'Alliance were added on the World Heritage Sites list by the UNESCO in 1983.

The old city centre's heritage dates from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. The cathedral of Nancy is a fine example of 18th century architecture. The surroundings of the train station are a busy commercial area. There is also a botanical garden in Nancy, "Le Jardin Botanique". It is open from 10 am to 12 (noon), and from 2 pm to 5 pm on Mondays through Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays it is open from 2 pm to 5 pm. It costs around 2.30 euros to enter, and has many different types of plants, including tropical, and many other wonderful types of plants and flowers.

The International Relations Office of INPL looks after reserving accommodation for Erasmus students in the university residences run by the CROUS. A university residence accommodation request should be filled in and sent back to the International Relations Office of INPL, who will forward it on to CROUS.
