Centennial College offers a
Early Childhood Education program where courses are designed around current research on emergent curriculum and brain development. The aim of this education is to enable students to develop the skills and insights needed to support children and their families. The program goes through the entire spectrum of child development, including infants, toddlers, pre-school children and school-age children.
This program stresses active in-class participation and students will build resources to work with young children, observe and describe child development and design appropriate activities´, gaining field experience with a variety of age groups. Two
Centennial College child care centres serve as model lab schools. This program is offered at both the Progress and Ashtonbee campuses - students may indicate their preference with their program code selection.
