Ireland is one of the friendliest countries in the world and also ranked as one of the safest. It has an excellent, world-ranked system of education and is the European headquarters of global companies Google, Intel, IBM and Dell.

Dublin is the largest city and the capital of the native English-speaking country. The city, officially known in Irish as Baile Átha Cliath, is located near the midst of Ireland’s east coast, at the centre of the Dublin Region and has one of the fastest growing populations in Europe. Dublin provides an ideal location for students, being a contemporary centre of education with a rich culture and history as well a dynamic and modern economy.

Dublin was voted the friendliest city in Europe in both 2007 and 2009 and it is estimated that 50% of the population is less than 25 years old. Offering a wider range of pubs, clubs and bars, Dublin’s nightlife is a vibrant affair and there is also a big variety of live music. The city is also the centre of almost all of Ireland’s sport organisations and was selected as the European Capital of Sport in 2010.

The Dublin Institute of Technology offers block booked, suitable student accommodation with external providers. This accommodation particularly helps students coming to Dublin for the first time to quickly settle into college life and becoming familiar with Dublin city. Students are able to make group bookings in order to live with friends.

The accommodation is fully equipped and fitted as well as being served with good transport links to DIT campuses. Students can benefit from free internet provision and have the flexibility of available alternative accommodation, should they be unhappy with their allocated residence. DIT provides a residential assistant in each complex to assist students as well as onsite security. All accommodation is wheelchair accessible.
