Description of Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA)

DBAThe Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) is a unique, research-based, issue-driven qualification that culminates in a doctoral degree (Doctor of Business Administration), offered in several locations throughout the world.

Regardless of where the programme is undertaken , the course content is the same and the degree is awarded by the Grenoble Ecole de Management.

This DBA qualification is one of only five DBA programmes to be accredited by AMBA.

The DBA program is divided into two stages:

  • Stage I – Training in Doctoral Research in Management Sciences: philosophy, Methods and Tools (18 to 24 months)
    This stage of the programme teaches research design, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques. Students also conduct and publish research projects.
  • Stage II: Thesis (24 to 30 months of part-time study)
    The thesis is an individual piece of research work conducted under the supervision of a professor. Students are required to show ability to conduct original investigations, to test, apply and/or examine ideas – his/her own or others’, and to understand the relationship of his/her theme to a wider field of knowledge.
