University of South Australia understands that education is about much more than just taking notes during a lecture. To be truly informed about your field of study, you need to know how to apply the theories you have learned in industry and the workplace. Most students have the chance to get out of the lecture theatre and into the real world to gain practical experience during their studies. For example, depending on the program you choose, you could find yourself conducting experiments in a hospital or laboratory during a clinical placement; studying fossils, native wildlife, textile history or Aboriginal culture on an outback field trip; working with leaders from industry and the professions on the development and implementation of strategic business plans; or assisting teachers during a practicum placement in a childcare, pre-school or school classroom environment.

At UniSA you can also choose to complete part of your studies with one of our many international partner universtities. From Chile to Austria to India to Japan, University of South Australia has student exchange agreements with accredited universities in more than 30 countries. An international study exchange will contribute to your personal and academic development, and will also be well-regarded by your future employers.

With its affordable lifestyle, relaxed and safe atmosphere, Mediterranean climate, accessible and convenient location, and reputation for offering high quality education, it is no surprise that Adelaide is such a consistently popular study destination.

With its rich cultural background, Adelaide is home to a vast array of restaurants and the largest fresh produce market in the southern hemisphere – in fact, South Australia is often regarded as the food and wine centre of Australia. Adelaide is particularly well known as the nation’s festival capital, hosting the biennial Festival of Arts, Fringe Festival and WOMADelaide, in addition to an annual calendar full of multicultural, music, comedy and food festivals and events. Sporting enthusiasts won’t miss out either. Australia is generally well known as a sports-loving nation and Adelaide is no exception. Each year, Adelaide hosts a variety of premier national and international sporting events including Adealide Clipsal V8 motor racing , tennis and golf championships, one-day and Test series cricket at the panoramic Adelaide Oval, and Australian Rules football, to name just a few.
