Tradition and innovation meet in Dalarna, home to Dalarna University. Forests, hills and water characterize the landscape. They have been the source of the region's sustenance for centuries. Wood, paper and pulp, iron, steel and water power are the basis of Dalarna's economy. Some of the large industries in Dalarna are SSAB, Avesta Sheffield, STORA and ABB. Banverket and Vägverket are the university's neighbors.
Nature and culture have attracted tourists here since the 1800s and even earlier. Dalarna is Sweden's biggest tourist region, but many choose to stay and live here.
Dalarna University cooperates with the two local housing companies in Borlänge and Falun. Accommodation is guaranteed, but the location may vary. Student rooms are however never more distant from the University than 3-4 kilometres.
You are allowed to book a student room when you have received the admission letter from Högskolan Dalarna.
