Welcome to the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland!
The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland is an educational institution of fine traditions, modern training facilities, and the latest management methods, all located in the heart of Europe in Switzerland. The passion and dedication of the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland aims to nurture in students a passion for food through the development of excellent culinary practise and dedication in an environment reflecting today's culinary trends and industry.
The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland evolved from the fusion of two world-renowned culinary schools, DCT’s European Culinary Center in Lucerne and the Culinary Arts Academy in Le Bouveret. Today, CIS has 2 locations in these cities, both situated within the campuses of hospitality management school César Ritz College. More than 12,000 people from 80 countries have graduated from the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland, continuing on to successful culinary careers around the world. Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland may choose from a variety of study options ranging from one-term education courses to three-year Bachelors education programmes.
The education curriculum of the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland focuses on the skills and practises required in operational kitchens of European cuisine, especially Italian and French. Students gain an appreciation of European culinary traditions, skills, philosophies, and modern trends. Through a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on experience in small classes, students develop the standards of Swiss chefs and become expert in international cuisine, from traditional culinary basics to international fine-dining methods. A multicultural student body works in close contact with chef instructors, and can apply new skills in the school's newly renovated, state-of-the-art demonstration kitchens. The opportunity to gain practical experience through paid internships allows many students to work in some of the best restaurants and four- and five-star hotels in Switzerland and beyond.
In addition to its excellent culinary education courses, the Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland offers students a Leadership Programme, which provides the necessary tools for future management roles within the industry. The school also has a dedicated career team which offers a range of services like international career trips and a biannual International Recruitment Forum, assisting students in taking their first steps toward a creative culinary career.
