
Charles University's Faculty of Social Sciences is situated in the historic town of Prague was created in 1990 and forms one of the 17 faculties that comprise Charles University, the first university established in Central Europe by Charles IV in 1348.
The university is currently ranked number 1 in the Czech Republic in the quality of its education and number 2 in the Czech Republic in research productivity. There are more than 3000 students studying at the Faculty of Social Sciences and they currently co-operate with 37 universities in Europe, United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand.

The Faculty of Social Sciences continues to enrol an increasing number of foreign students and offers full-time degree programmes in both Czech and English. This helps to create a truly international learning environment, especially beneficial to students studying the courses offered within the Social Sciences Faculty.
