This course provides students with skills to work as a deckhand, tour guide or hospitality worker in the marine tourism industry. Students will learn about practical seamanship, small vessel operations and maintenance, the marine environment, skills to conduct a tour charter and provide tour commentaries, prepare and serve food and drinks, sail, sea kayak, snorkel and dive.
Graduating students will gain an Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate and a Bronze Medallion swimming certificate and diving qualifications to the PADI standard. The course also includes a supervised work placement.
Please note that swimming is prerequisite for entry into this course.
