Polytechnique Montréal offers a
Biomedical Engineering programme. Biomedical engineering involves the application of engineering principles to study, modify and control biological systems, as well as the design and manufacture of products for monitoring physiological functions and to assist in diagnosis and patientsion processing systems used to receive, store, process, transmit, display and use information.
What distinguishes the engineer biomedical engineer a classically trained, it is capable of analyzing a problem both in terms of engineering and both from the viewpoint of the specialist medical field. He must be aware of the difficulties associated with living things and is called to evaluate a more extensive set of solutions in the traditional fields of engineering.
