The Bachelor in Economics and Finance (BEF) at Charles University is a three-year
programme taught fully in English offered for students with a complete
secondary education. This programme is taught at
the Faculty of Social Sciences by members of the Institute of Economic Studies (IES).
The Bachelor in Economics and Finance (BEF) aims to give the student a thorough grounding in both theoretical and applied economics and finance. Emphasis is placed on developing abstract analytical reasoning, which allows graduates to solve complex economic and financial problems in various settings.
Compulsory modules in Bachelor in Economics and Finance:
Education courses within the Bachelor in Economics and Finance are taught both by IES faculty and external professionals from the central bank, commercial banks and business analysts. Graduates typically assume challenging positions in banking, consulting, investment funds and public administration.
To complete the programme, the students must (i) collect 180 ECTS credits, (ii) defend their Bachelor’s Thesis and (iii) pass the final comprehensive examination.
Students wishing to study the Bachelor in Economics and Finance programme must meet the following requirements:
School fees for the BEF programme in school year 2011/12 are 3,000 Euro per semester.
