Eastern New Mexico University offers a
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry programme. The field of chemistry is a scientific discipline which investigates the composition of matter and the energy changes that occur as matter is transformed. Practical outcomes from studying chemistry include the means to make new materials for everyday use; harness energy to power our homes, vehicles, computers, radios and many other devices; and evaluate the properties of materials and the state of the environment (air, water and land).
Chemistry is often interdisciplinary. Many recent advances in biology, medicine, computers, geology, ecology, agriculture, and alternative energy technologies can be traced to advances in chemistry. ENMU's chemistry program is part of a Physical Sciences department with geology and physics.
