The Bachelor of Engineering (Computer & Communications Engineering) programme prepares students for a rewarding professional career as a communications and IT engineering specialist in a very wide range of manufacturing, service and public sector organisations. The Bachelor degree is accredited by the national professional engineering organisation, Engineers Ireland.
The programme addresses the need to provide appropriate, key, technical professionals and offers the prospect of valuable career opportunities due to national and international organisation’s demand for a new range of engineering development skills.
Combining elements of electronic, software and communications engineering and associated hardware appropriate to the merging of technologies encountered in today’s ICT systems, the Bachelor of Engineering programme consists of practical project and laboratory work. An emphasis is placed on the development of application-oriented design and development skills and in-depth knowledge relevant to the needs of high-tech ICT producers, advanced system providers and operators.
The programme gives student the choice of two different work placement options;
- Students can either spend 6 months of continuous placement in a company, in Ireland or abroad, in the second semester of the third year.
